Online in BC

Elements Casino Victoria and PlayNow

Elements Casino Victoria in View Royal is a land-based casino, and this guide describes it from the outside. Online play in British Columbia follows separate rules, which this page explains.

PlayNow.com and the provincial rule

In British Columbia, the only lawful gambling is gambling that the provincial government operates. For online play, that means one site: PlayNow.com, which BCLC operates. No other online gambling site is legal anywhere in the province. As of April 13, 2026, gambling in BC falls under the Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO).

The legal age is 19, and the rule covers casinos and online gambling alike. People under 19 are barred from gambling venues and from every form of gambling, whether on a casino floor or a screen. That rule includes PlayNow.com. In Greater Victoria, the same age applies at the door of Elements Casino Victoria in View Royal.

Private sites outside BC rules

The IGCO holds that any other online gambling site taking players from BC operates illegally within the province. BC's own safeguards stop at their edge. Game Break, the voluntary self-exclusion program for BC casinos, also covers PlayNow.com for the same term, but it does not reach private sites. PlayNow limits do not apply there either. Complaints about a private site cannot go to the IGCO.

Help does not depend on where the gambling happened. Gambling Support BC, a provincial program, answers 1-888-795-6111 around the clock, toll-free, for any BC resident. Those affected by the gambling of someone close to them are included. Counselling is free, and the website is gamblingsupportbc.ca.

How this guide is paid

Only the home page of this Victoria guide carries paid links, every one marked with the label Ad. The menu holds one; another fills a block straight after the opening screen; the third rests low, at the page foot. Any of the three leads to one partner only, a privately run online casino. British Columbia neither runs nor regulates it.

A commission reaches the guide from that partner, which may be swapped for another. Elements Casino Victoria has no part in these links. The casino does not run this site, and there are no bets or accounts here. Elements Casino Victoria keeps its own pages at casinovictoria.ca.

Questions at the desk

Is online gambling legal in British Columbia?

Only on PlayNow.com, which BCLC runs. BC allows gambling only when the provincial government operates it; the IGCO says other sites taking BC players act illegally.

Does Elements Casino Victoria run an online casino?

No details on one appear in this guide. The casino's own website is casinovictoria.ca, and elementscasinovictoria.com redirects there.

Can Game Break shut out a private online casino?

No, it does not. Private online sites fall outside Game Break and PlayNow limits, and the IGCO does not take complaints about them.

Why are there Ad links on the home page?

Each paid link on the home page, three in all, bears an Ad label and sends readers to a single online casino partner operated privately. That partner, which may change, pays this guide a commission. No other page on the site carries them.
